It is signed by the maker or retailer, H. 42 Piccadilly on the front. It has a silvered dial and a blued steel hand. I would estimate it was made some time between 1860 and 1870. It stands approximately 8 inches tall and approximately 6 1/4 inches wide at the base. It doesn’t appear to be in working order because when I tip the barometer 90 degrees clockwise, the blued steel arm moves significantly. That said, I believe a clock or barometer restorer could bring it back to working order. This lovely Victorian desk barometer is heavy and would be a great addition to anyone’s collection.
