Here’s a superb antique Barometer Thermometer combination made of carved walnut wood. Incredible detail in the deep relief carving. Definitely an Aesthetic Movement or Eastlake influence to my eye. I believe this dates to the 1880’s. It measures about 21 tall to the top of the ball finial. The Barometer was made by Keuffel & Esser Co of New York City, but was actually manufactured in Germany. Thick bevel glass face. The Thermometer is also German and has a MILK GLASS background with black etched temp scales in both Fahrenheit and Centigrade. Both instruments appear to be fully functional. You won’t be disappointed with this beautiful antique. The item “1880 Carved Walnut KEUFFEL & ESSER Aesthetic movement BAROMETER THERMOMETER rare” is in sale since Friday, May 26, 2017.
