Antique English Mahogany Stick Barometer Barnaschina Alfred Bullard London and Philly Early to Mid-1800s. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! Quite an Antique English Stick Weather Station here. The face says “Barnaschina Waranted” on the silver metal face. The piece was made by Barnaschina of England. Not sure what town this maker was located in. The piece was also once in the fine antiquities shop of Alfred Bullard based upon the old paper stick on the back of the piece. This piece dates back to the early to mid-1800s based upon our experienct, but that is just an educated guess. You be the judge before acquiring. Any assistance in refining the manufacture date of this Weather Station would be appreciated. Your identity would be kept anonymous. What a wood case this weather station has! The case is probably made of mahogany wood. Check out the wood inlay that go down the sides of the stick. The decorative steeple top and brass finial are still in place at the top of the case. Some chipping and loss to the “roof” of the steeple on both sides. The front wood door of the case is still in place and securely attached by two hinges. The latch for the door is also still in place on the side of the case. There is a brass metal hanger on the piece, but do not think that is original to the piece. Is still on the back of the barometer case as well. The numbers and names on the silver metal face are engraved or pressed into the face, not just stenciled or painted on. The red liquid is still in the thermometer and it appears to be operating, cannot say how accurately. The silver colored fluid is still in place for the barometer and the glass piece runs all the way from the bottom, whee a wood cup is over the reservoir, all the way up to the face of the weather station. The slide marking piece is still in place for setting what showing at any point in time. Not sure if the barometer component of the weather station is operational or not, so going to say the barometer component is not working. This is a great Antique Weather Station here just waiting for the right person to want it in their home. The Weather Station is 38.5″ tall, by 5.5″ across, by 2.5 wide.
