Vintage anemometer “sir frances galton anemometer”. Anemometer was made by j. Hicks maker 8.9 & 10 hatton garden London. Comes in the original vintage wooden box. Anemometer measures 13″ in length by 4″ wide. I think the small pipe that comes with the anemometer is not the original pipe “see photos and judge for yourself”. I know nothing about this beautiful piece. I have searched every where online and cannot find any other anemometer like this. There was a hand held anemometer similar style made by the same company for sir Frances Galton that is in a museum in the uk. Anemometer shows signs of wear due to its age. This piece has some great character. Everything on it works and all the gears turn smoothly.
