This beautiful desktop barometer measures approx 7 3/8″ tall when standing upright, and 3 1/2″ wide, although the piece measures 7 3/4 long total. It features a swirl style mercury thermometer in Fahrenheit degrees, and decorative painted porcelain enamel barometer. It has a window to see all of the mechanics inside. It does have a monogram, I think says AEL written in script. It has an access screw to adjust it in the back. The Victorian style of engraving, and floral patterns are exquisite. Unfortunately, the piece does have small dent on it’s lower right side, and the ring has a slight ding as well. These small flaws are not very noticeable at all unless looking for them. See pics for more details. The piece is dated 1904 EE, and the bottom is stamped with the makers name. Mermod, Jaccard & Co. Louis, Missouri 1845 – 1905. Were retail merchants of sterling, silverplate, and jewelry, and some of their own manufacturing. They were succeeded by Mermod, Jaccard & King Jewelry Co. This piece is fully functioning, and will add a bit of class and beauty to any desk or home. There will most likely be a few extra dollars added to the invoice.
