This extremely rare, antique desktop weather station was made by taylor instruments out of rochester, new york. Named “stormoguide, ” it has a patent number of 1612344, which was issued on december 28, 1926. This piece was produced in 1927. Altitude/feet above sea level can be adjusted with a dial on the back. The thermometer, barometer and humidity gauges are housed in bakelite and behind a clear plastic cover. Gauges predict weather with a number of fascinating phrases such as “clearing high winds & cool, ” “fair next 24 hours” and storm in direction of wind. This piece measures 8 inches long by 5 inches tall and 2 inches deep and weighs 2 pounds 5 ounces.
