Stunning heavyweight brass barometer/thermometer from phbn france, bulkhead mount. Phbn (pertius, hulot, naudet barometers) made high class weather instruments in the early 1900s. This has a barometer as well as a fahrenheit thermometer along the lower part of the dial. There are three holes for mounting on a wall or bulkhead. Interior silver-colored dial is clean. Heavy brass case appears to have been lovingly polished and maintained through its life. The barometer has been working in our office – a gentle pressure test shows no sticking in the movement. The bellows and interior movement are clean. Evidence of a couple of minor pitting spots on outside of case. The needle on the face is intact. The screw-on face glass has 4 cracks in the glass; that is the only flaw we can find. Total weight 1 lb. Screw-on bezel is 3-3/4″ across, base is 4-1/2″, entire unit is 2 deep. Face has engraved legends “holosteric barometer, ” “made in france, ” “fahrenheit thermometer, ” and the phbn logo.
