Overall nice cosmetic shape, and appears to be working, although i have not tested this piece out for any real period of time, so i cannot guarantee the functionality. Barometer measures 40″ tall, and 10 1/2″ wide. Great piece of scientific weather history! Minor wear may be found due to age, but overall it looks very nice. Wood looks to be mahogany. He has had this barometer for 40+ years, where it hung on a wall in the basement. Ups has always packed fragile pieces very well for me in the past with no issues whatsoever, but i want to make that clear.
