This is a recent acquisition from an estate in the chicago area. It says circa 1880, but i have no idea how accurate that information my be either? The thermometer is obviously a modern replacement and one of the pointers is missing, but it looks like it would be pretty easy to make a replacement?
There’s a small ding on the very top of the case (see pic) but the rest of the case appears to be in beautiful condition. I’m not really sure what kind of wood this is but it’s very tight grained and beautiful. The glass barometer tube appears to be in excellent condition and has no mercury in it at this time. Sorry about the reflections in the pictures!
The approximate dimensions are 36″ high x 6 3/4″ wide x 1 3/4 deep.
