Antique rare tiger maple & Birdseye Barometer Court Exeter 42 1800s
Posted on May 18, 2025 and filed under Uncategorized.
This very rare barometer in Birdseye and tiger maple was made by Paul Courti OF Exeter he was working from 1830-to 1860, I would assume its on the early Side of that with the wood choice this is the first example from this period that we have seen, most of his work was with mahogany or rosewood and this is a true gem perhaps he custom made it for someone. Now function there is some loss to wood bordering thermometer, and I can’t tell if there is mercury in it? Now if there isn’t that could be replaced easily in fact when the new owner picks this up, we might have something! WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO GET A QUOTE BEFORE PURCHASING AN ITEM.
